On Saturday, the John Carroll Football community gathered for the 2024 Tony DeCarlo ’66G Memorial Golf Outing.
This year’s event featured an all-time record turnout, with 170+ golfers plus some Blue Streaks who did not golf but attended the reception afterwards. The weather at Highland Park Golf Course was definitely hot, but the golf was certainly good. Congratulations to the winning team of PJ Insana ’95, Willie Beers ’93, Chris Cochran, and Mike Caserio ’99 on capturing the team trophy.
At the reception, Kurt Gabram ‘90, Jim Mitchell ‘90, and Dave Rastoka ’90 gave updates on the Gridiron Club. Director of Athletics Brian Polian ’97 and Head Coach Jeff Behrman ’95 gave state of the program and state of the team addresses. Rory O’Neil ‘06, Executive Director of Alumni Engagement, talked about the event as a whole, while Patti Naim ’90 provided wonderful thoughts on Tony DeCarlo ’66G and a prayer. Bob Kraft ‘73 gave a great speech about the 1973 and 1974 PAC Championship teams and a look-ahead to the UW-Whitewater roadtrip (further details to follow).
All in all, it was a very memorable day celebrating John Carroll Football and lifelong bonds the program has built.
