A John Carroll star is returning to campus to be honored on November 8 for the Blue Streaks’ game against Ohio Wesleyan.
The Gridiron Club is proud to honor Rick Kuczmarski ’82, an All-American and member of the John Carroll Athletic Hall of Fame.
Kuczmarski starred on the defensive line during his days in University Heights. An all-conference pick via the Presidents Athletic Conference in 1980 and 1981, Kuczmarski anchored the defense for two outstanding seasons. Leading the team in tackles in 1981 with a whopping 108, Kuczmarski earned All-American honors as a senior.
Later on, Kuczmarski was honored in a number of ways. Most prominently, Kuczmarski was a first ballot inductee into the JCU Athletic Hall of Fame. And notably, he was a member of Bryan Fritz’s JCU Modern Era All-Time Team (chosen during 75th anniversary of JCU Football).
Kuczmarski will be honored during JCU’s game vs. OWU on November 8.
