With fall camp rapidly approaching, it’s time to start meeting seniors on the John Carroll Football Team!
JCU Football returns a strong crop of student-athletes.
This first spotlight features JP Germano, a star defensive back from JCU from Chagrin Falls, a Kenston graduate.
Why did you choose to attend John Carroll?
The high level praise for our academics and connections in the outside world.
What does being a Blue Streak mean to you?
Being a Man for Others and holding yourself to a certain level of accountability that is the standard for us Blue Streaks
What are some of your favorite memories as a student at JCU?
Obviously most of our football games, but besides that I would say the grind of camp days where it’s just the team on campus. Lots of fun memories are created at team meals and going through the tough grind together just makes it special.
What else have you been involved with on campus besides football?
I have worked camps and service while also connecting with my criminology professors on separate occasions for research purposes
Which JCU faculty or staff member has made the greatest impact on you and why?
I couldn’t narrow it down to one person but I would just say all the individuals of our team. Through ups and downs, they have either guided me or kept it 100% truthful with me and whichever that may be; it has led me to where I am today.
Reflecting back on your time at JCU, what advice would you give an incoming freshman?
You are going to hit rock bottom at some point, it happens to everyone. Whether that be mentally or physically; don’t be a guy who gives up when that happens. Use it as fuel and come out of the hole a better man.
What do you want to do for a living when you graduate from JCU?
I recently had interest in grad coaching here at John Carroll while also getting my masters in some sort of criminology field so I don’t have a specific job of what I want to do in mind. But if I have the opportunity to coach more after grad school, I would love to. If not, my interest are in some sort of field work; something like FBI, SWAT, etc.
TWO MINUTE DRILL

Favorite JCU tradition?
Before this upcoming year, I would say the BW trophy tradition
