As preparation ramps up for the season, the Gridiron Club’s Meet the Senior series continues.

This week, meet Griffin Lidyard. The Avon Lake native is a key member of the defensive line.

Why did you choose to attend John Carroll?
I chose JCU because the campus felt like home and the academics are great.
What does being a Blue Streak mean to you? 
It means doing the right thing even when it’s not easy.
What are some of your favorite memories as a student at JCU?
Practice or locker room talk with the guys.
What is the best part about being a student-athlete at JCU?
Being a student-athlete gives you structure, which benefits me.
Which JCU faculty or staff member has made the greatest impact on you and why?
Coach Minnillo, because he taught me how to be a great football player, but more importantly he taught me how to be a better teammate and man.
Reflecting back on your time at JCU, what advice would you give an incoming freshman?
Being a student athlete can be hard, but you have to appreciate the opportunity and experience of it all because it will pay off.
What do you want to do for a living when you graduate from JCU? 
I want to become and orthopedic physician
