In advance of Saturday’s scrimmage, it’s time to meet another senior!

This week’s edition features Matt Russo, an All-OAC offensive lineman from Depew, NY. The veteran will be a key part of the Blue Streaks’ efforts up front.

Without further ado, let’s meet the veteran lineman!

Why did you choose to attend John Carroll?
I chose John Carroll because of the great chemistry program, the opportunities available after graduation, and to join a competitive football program.
What does being a Blue Streak mean to you? 
Being a Blue Streak means having dedication and pride in everything that you do.
What are some of your favorite memories as a student at JCU?
I have had the opportunity to work cooperatively on projects using high tech chemistry equipment.
What is the best part about being a student-athlete at JCU?
As a student-athlete, there is so much opportunity to meet people that you share common interests with in the classroom and on the field.
What else have you been involved with on campus besides football?
I am a member of the Varsity Track and Field program here at JCU.
Which JCU faculty or staff member has made the greatest impact on you and why?
Dr. Chai has positively impacted me by leading me in the right direction and creating an environment in the classroom that has pushed me to succeed.
Reflecting back on your time at JCU, what advice would you give an incoming freshman?
There are so many clubs and activities at JCU, don’t be afraid to try something new.
What do you want to do for a living when you graduate from JCU? 
I would like to join the chemistry industry where I can conduct research and manufacture helpful products.
