
One of John Carroll’s finest from their earlier days on the gridiron has been honored as a recipient of the John Carroll Alumni Medal for this year.
Phil Giacinti, Esq. ’68 has been honored for his accomplishments in his profession, contributions to his community, exemplary family and personal life, and dedicated service to John Carroll University post-graduation.
Giacinti is a 1964 graduate of Fenwick High School and graduated from John Carroll in 1968. At John Carroll, he was a member of the Football team and Iota Chi Upsilon.
On the football field, Giacinti was a First Team All-PAC in 1965 as a safety for the Blue Streaks and also played halfback. In his final season in 1967, he was named team captain.
After graduating, Giacinti joined the Marine Corps and fought valiantly in the Vietnam War.
Giacinti then went on to law school at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where he graduated in 1975. He later went on to become a partner at Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP in San Diego, CA.
