Entering a new season, the Gridiron Club has several new additions with young alumni joining the Board of Directors.
One of the new members is Tyler Frederick ‘20.
Once a defensive lineman for the Blue Streaks, Frederick is set to be a valuable addition to the board.
Originally from Wadsworth, Frederick is now living in Twinsburg. A Business Management major in the Boler School of Business, he’s putting his degree to use in sales. Frederick works as a sales representative for Stryker Sports Medicine. Previously from 2021-23, Frederick lived in Myrtle Beach. During this stint, he worked as a project manager in new home construction.
After getting married in 2024, Frederick and his wife welcomed a baby boy in March 2025.
The Medina Highland grad enjoyed plenty of success during his collegiate career. Frederick tallied 27 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss as a freshman as a part of the unforgettable OAC Championship and NCAA Semifinalist 2016 Blue Streaks team.
As a sophomore, Frederick stepped up further individually, compiling 42 tackles and snagging All-OAC Honorable Mention status as a sophomore in 2017. His game developed further in 2018, as Frederick accumulated 43 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks, completing the campaign as an All-OAC Second Team honoree. The Blue Streaks returned to the NCAA Playoffs that season.
Frederick helped to guide the Blue Streaks to an unworldly defensive season that ended with a 9-1 record. He tallied 53 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks in his senior season. Frederick’s career concluded with All-OAC First Team honors.
Frederick will bring excellent expertise to the board this upcoming year.
